In my experience, wedding planners are one of the most undervalued wedding vendors in the industry. Time and time again I hear clients say that they don’t need a wedding planner because they can do it themselves or they have a helpful mom/family member. While it’s true that brides are perfectly capable of meeting vendors and making decisions, here are the top five reasons why I think wedding planners are invaluable (because I could seriously write a book on the topic) :

Planning a wedding is a new experience for most brides but it is not a wedding planners first rodeo. Not only have your wedding planner’s preferred vendors come through time and time again, she’s not sending you to unprofessional professionals. A pretty Instagram feed, well written website or great sales person might hide poor service. You also have the added bonus of strong relationships that often can result in rule bending and VIP treatment.

 

2. Wedding planners will catch things you wont.

Proper linen lengths, lighting capabilities and reasonable time lines are all things wedding planners are very familiar with and can assist solving problems before the day of the wedding.

 

3. Pinterest worth weddings are intricate.

Creative and unique ideas take a lot of planning and usually coordination between multiple vendors. Planners can facilitate communication between all parties to execute a flawless event and guest experience.

 

4. Last minute details will be taken care of for you.

Do you really want to worry about picking up signage from the printer or finalizing setup times with your band the week of the wedding? Planners take care of last minute details so you can enjoy yourself.

 

5. Day of the wedding, your planner will insure everything runs smoothly and on time.

I’m going to drop a truth bomb on you…every wedding day has a few bumps in the road. Maybe the rental company forgot a linen or your baker’s delivery vehicle broke down. These things happen…every. single. wedding. Luckily for you a seasoned wedding planner will fix all of these issues, while still being there to fluff your veil AND you will never be the wiser.
