Last September, Nellie with Nellie Sparkman Events and Stationary Studio approached us to help design Kansas City’s first ever Crate and Barrel Private Registry Event and we jumped at the opportunity! Who would turn down a chance to hang out at Crate & Barrel for a morning!? When we were asked to take part yet again this year, we were SO SO excited!
During a Private Registry Event, couples are greeted at the door before the store even opens, to enjoy refreshments and delicious food, to take a tour of the store, to see vendor promos and product demos, and the best part – to scan away and to add items to their registry! The one-on-one experience each couple receives while registering is so incredible and so very helpful in choosing which items fit their taste and would work best for them.
This year, we worked with Nellie and her team to design a tablescape that would inspire couples for their home entertaining, with the holidays just around the corner! { Y A Y ! } With Kansas City being known for its hospitality, we chose to showcase a table that was very warm and inviting for their guests to enjoy. For the floral arrangements, we created a garland with many different types and colors of greenery and added in a variety of pink and burgundy flowers. A little tip to creating your garland for the holidays is to pick a variation of contrasting textures and shades for your arrangement, but stay within the color palette of your choosing. First start with your most basic pieces of greenery, and then add in your special flowers to fill in any empty spots. And { v o i l à ! }, you’ve created your very own masterpiece!
Our Favorite Details
We chose to feature four different ways to style each place setting for the upcoming holidays! Jen and Rita from Heirloom Photo Company captured every single details oh, so perfectly!!! Our favorite table top details were hands down the Hex Glass Coasters with each guests’ name personalized by Lauren with Lauren Heim Studio for each of the place settings and the beautiful salad and dinner plates we showcased from Crate and Barrel! Our absolute favorite place setting was the Meadow Hand Painted Salad Plate (this needs to be added to my collection ASAP) paired with the Sloan Black Dinner Plate and the Aurora Linen Cloth Dinner Napkin (the Josh place setting.)
Tell us, which place setting is your favorite?!
Serving Mocktails
The couples attending were welcomed with ‘Apple of My Eye‘ and ‘East Bottoms‘ mocktails created and served by Cordial Craft Cocktail Co. and boy, were they delicious! Both, perfect drinks to add to your upcoming holiday parties! We especially loved the Hatch Highball and Rocks Glasses pictured below (also perfect to pop a tea light candle in for your tablescape!).
Handletting Wreaths
Lauren with Lauren Heim Studio gifted each couple with personalized wreaths with their names and wedding date! If you haven’t already attended one of her workshops or checked out her work, you need to! She also makes adorable custom, hand drawn wood laser cut signs, perfect to hang on your christmas tree, place on your wreath, or hang on your wall!
Tasting Desserts
Dolce Bakery brought the most delicious treats for the couples to enjoy! The Pumpkin Whoopee Pies and Mini Key Lime Pies were almost too cute to eat (is that even possible?!) and their gorgeous three tier cake was definitely the center of attention! You can never go wrong with Dolce!
Enjoying Tunes
John Goolsby of Jukebox Media played acoustic love songs yet again this year, and it perfectly set the tone for our couples as they registered! John is the front man for the cover band Lost Wax, and if you haven’t heard him before you are missing out!
Enjoying Apps
Shining Stars Catering provided a variety of appetizers to fill up all of the couples during the event. Their food is always delicious and their service is always incredible! I hope you aren’t hungry sitting here reading this…
A Special Shout-Out
Nellie, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for choosing us to be a part of this event the past two years! Oh, how it’s been a blast working with you and watching this event come to life each year. You are an incredible #BossMama!
