“Meet us at the Brooksider at 7, Tommy’s proposing to Halie!”. She said in a voicemail; her excitement could be felt through the phone. This had been a popular topic in our family for quite some time, with much speculation on how and when. My aunt (and really everyone) had long awaited this day. We all knew that Halie and Tommy were a perfect match and were meant to spend their lives together.
That night, as we celebrated with a packed house of friends and family members, the designing began. By the next morning, we’d decided on a color palette and had a short list of venues, including The Grand Hall (which was under construction). The weeks flew by and before we knew it the wedding day had arrived.
On a warm day in July, Tommy married Halie. Love was in the air, as friends and family came from all over the country to celebrate their union. The couple married at Our Lady of Sorrows, with a reception following at The Grand Hall. Halie has a colorful spirit, so we incorporated a vibrate palette of navy and hot pink.
Below are a few highlights:
Charlie was the ring bearer and boy was he ornery! Notice he’s not wearing any shoes.
We were able to sneak in a quick hug between the ceremony and when guests arrived for cocktail hour.
How Amazing is this cake!
We paid particular attention to the head table, because we knew it would be the focal point of the room. We also wanted a beautiful backdrop for speeches and dancing…I think we nailed it! If you look closely you can see the mirrored escort card display on the stairs.
