We’ve been daydreaming of this beautiful fall wedding for several months now, and we are so excited to finally be sharing Madison + Jay’s fall wedding with you today! There were so many wonderful elements of this wedding, and it was truly incredible to see it all come together on a sunny October day in Kansas City.
Madison and Jay welcomed their family + friends to an intimate gathering set at The InterContinental Hotel on the Plaza after their Loose Park Rose Garden ceremony. The couple was drawn to the classic, timeless feel of the space – and hired an incredible vendor team to make their wedding dreams into a reality! We worked closely with Nellie Sparkman Events & Stationery Studio to plan out all of the elements of the day – from the aisle arrangements to the escort card display, there were no details left behind! This wedding was a highlight of our fall season, and we think you’ll agree too! Madison + Jay’s wedding was picture-perfect on a beautiful Kansas City day just like we had envisioned and hoped for. THE BRIDAL BOUQUET
Madison carried a detailed and rich bouquet, full of various textures and florals including dahlias, peonies, garden roses, tulips, and my personal absolute favorite – ranunculus. The bouquet was wrapped in a piece of an heirloom gown from her grandmother, her aunt, and her mother’s wedding dress!
A REDESIGNED HEIRLOOM WEDDING GOWN
Madison wore part of an heirloom wedding gown that was first worn by her grandmother in 1943, and then passed down to her aunt and mother on their wedding days. Madison, who works as a business development executive for the bridal designer Essense of Australia, altered the original gown (see photo below) and wore the bottom half of the dress as a skirt for her wedding day.

We created a custom dog collar for the sweetest, most photogenic pup ever! How adorable is she?!
A LOOSE PARK ROSE GARDEN CEREMONY
Madison and Jay first welcomed their guests to an intimate cocktail hour at The Intercontinental, and then guests were transported to Loose Park Rose Garden where the beautiful ceremony took place. The Laura Conyers Smith Fountain in the west end of Rose Garden in Loose Park made for the most romantic ceremony spot!
A ONE – OF – A – KIND CEREMONY RECESSIONAL
Nellie with Nellie Sparkman Events has always had a crazy vision, to parade guests from Loose Park to The InterContinental Hotel and as soon as she mentioned her idea to Madison and Jay, they were ecstatic and completely on board with the idea! After the ceremony, 200+ guests followed the dancing newlyweds and the Marching Cobras through the streets of Kansas City back to The InterContinental and it was truly one for the books!!!
THE RECEPTION
As guests were enjoying the ceremony and cocktail hour, the entire team of vendors were perfecting the details of the reception. Napkins were being placed, candles were being lit, and place settings and chairs were being straightened. The room was set to perfection and Madison + Jay were able to experience their wedding dreams come to life!
